A State-level tourism promotion committees has been formed centering on the Nepal Visit Year-2020. The committee is premiered by ministers for industry; tourism; forest and environment and patronized by the Chief Minister of each state.
The committees were formed as per the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation which has been looked after by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli since the demise of then Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari last February.
The committee will work for the promotion of tourism year, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation said in a press statement.
The secretary of industry, tourism, forest; and environment ministry of the respective State has been appointed as the member-secretary on the committee which will induct representatives from private tourism industry as State programme coordinators and members.
Visit Nepal Year -2020 was announced with a view to bringing in at least two million tourists by the year 2020 AD and and showcase Nepal among the best tourist destinations in the world.
