  1. Put on some bright lipstick

Lipstick is amazing stuff and it can do so much to brighten up your face. A swipe of bright red lipstick, or a sunny pink, can change your whole appearance. Your smile will look wider, your eyes brighter and more awake and it will be a great confidence booster too.

  1. Drink a large glass of water

Part of the reason that you feel so tired towards the end of the day is that you are probably a little bit dehydrated. This doesn’t only make you feel lethargic; it can show in your skin and in your eyes too. Drink a large glass of water and it will wake you up and refresh your skin too. You’ll be surprised at just how quickly a glass of water can improve how you look and how you feel.

  1. Rub an ice cube on your face

Rubbing an ice cube over your face will wake you up and it will wake up your skin too. It’s cool and refreshing and the cold of the ice will close up the pores in your skin and reduce any inflammation that you might have. If it’s a particularly hot day, then run the ice cube up the insides of your arms as well and this will cool down the blood in your veins and that will, in turn, cool down the rest of your body and make you look a lot less hot and flustered.

  1. Do a mini workout

A minute is all it will take to get your blood pumping and get the oxygen flowing to your skin. Try running on the spot for a minute or do some jumping jacks. It will get your circulation going again, which will bring the color back to your cheeks and make you feel and look more alive.

  1. Pull your shoulders back and stand up straight

When you get tired, you slouch and no one can look elegant and beautiful when they are slouching. Pull your shoulders back and hold your head up high and stand, or sit, with your back held up straight. Having a bad posture is bad for your spine as well as your appearance and straightening yourself up will also improve your circulation too.

  1. Spritz yourself with rosewater

A quick spritz with rosewater will liven up your skin. It will rehydrate your skin and it has anti-inflammatory properties too, so it will reduce any inflammation on your face. Rosewater is a lifesaver on a long day, so carry a bottle around with you in your handbag and use it whenever you feel you are tired, or your skin starts to feel dry and tight.

  1. Eat a banana

Bananas are a great source of energy, so eating a banana will soon perk you up and get you going again. Even better, you can then use the inside of the banana peel to freshen up your skin as well. Rub the inside of a banana peel on your face and it will exfoliate the skin and hydrate and plump it up. Keep rubbing it in for about a minute and then rinse your face with cool water.

  1. Massage your neck

When you get tired, the muscles in your neck will tighten and this can restrict the flow of blood to your face. Massage the nape of your neck for a minute and this will loosen up the muscles and allow the blood to flow again. It will make you feel less tired and stressed and brighten up your complexion.

  1. Inhale some peppermint oil

Rub some peppermint oil on the palms of your hands, cup them over your face and inhale the fumes. Peppermint oil has a wonderfully refreshing scent that will calm you and reduce any feelings of stress. It also helps to clear the nasal passages so more oxygen will be getting to your brain and your skin.

  1. Apply a touch of luminizer to the inner corners of your eyes.

 

To open up all your eyes and make yourself look more awake, all you need to do is rub a tiny bit of luminizer over the inner corners of your eyes. Just use your finger to apply it and blend it well in and, in just seconds, your eyes will look a whole lot brighter.
