Nepal confirms 13 more COVID-19 cases, tally reaches to 134

Nepal has confirmed 13 more new cases of corona virus on Monday evening. With this, the number of COVID-19 cases in Nepal has reached 134.

Nepal has confirmed 24 cases in a single day on Monday so far.

Coronavirus infection has been found in men aged 15,19,23,30,32 and 38 years of Yashodhara Rural Municipality-8 and Buddhabhumi Municipality-7 of Kapilvastu.

Similarly, men aged 24,26,27,30,32 and 40 years of Sammarimai Rural Municipality-7 and Lumbini Cultural Rural Municipality-6 of Rupandehi have been infected.

Likewise, an 11-year-old girl of Rajapur Municipality-5 in Bardiya has also contracted coronavirus.

Tests at the National Public Health Laboratory confirmed coronavirus infection in 13 people, according to Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari.

Earlier one new case was confirmed in Saptari district on Monday afternoon.

An 18-year-old youth from Dakneshwori Municipality-3 was confirmed to be infected after his swab sample was tested at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

His health condition is normal, said Spokesperson Adhikari.

Earlier today, 10 persons from Kapilvastu, Yasodhara rural municipality-5 and Buddha Bhumi rural municipality-7 have been found infected with coronavirus. All of them are men.

Nine among those infected are aged 18, 19, 20, 20, 24, 30, 31, 34, 34, while the age of the remaining one is to be established.

Their swabs had been tested at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku. According to Adhikari the health condition of those infected is normal.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Bikash Devkota, 17,809 samples have been tested by PCR and 58,546 using the RDT method so far.

Spokesperson Dr. Devkota informed that 2,799 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. Similarly, 12,701 people are in quarantine across the country.
