14th Safal Pokhara International Marathon held in Pokhara

Safal Pokhara International Marathon for the 14th year has been completed in Pokhara on Saturday.

Takanashi Rosukii of Japan bagged the title of the competition. He completed the race clocking 2 hours 26 minutes and 51 seconds becoming the champion rewarded with 2 lakhs cash prize. He expressed his happiness winning the title participating from Komagaane city of Japan for the first time in the race.

Similarly, the second position was secured by gold medalist of 13th SAG Kiran Bogati of Armed Police Force. Bogati completed the race clocking 2 hours 28 minutes and 8 seconds and won 1 lakhs cash prize.

Likewise, Anish Thapa Magar of Gandaki province completing the race at 2 hours 29 minutes and Ganesh Singh Thakuri of Armed Police Force with 2 hours and 41 minutes won third prize with cash 75 thousand and consolation prize with 15 thousand accordingly.

Similarly, Purna Bahadur Karki, Yangdev Rai and Aashish Kunwar has secured first, second and third position rewarded with cash prize 15 thousand, 10 thousand and 5 thousand accordingly in 10 kilometre race male. Likewise, Indrakala securing first , Anita Rai second and foreign player Windy secured third position with cash prize 15 thousand, 10 thousand and 5 thousand accordingly in 10 Kilometre race female.

Meanwhile, in 5 km race male Binod Gurung, Bibek Pariyar and Pradeep Bhujel and Binu BK, Prathishya Subedi and Madhuri Devi Kurmi in 5  km race female  won first, second and third prize accordingly. They were rewarded with cash prize 10 thousand, seven thousand and four thousand.

Similarly, in blind male race Pramod Dahal, Aashik Khauji and Prem Chettri secured first, second and third position while Binita Pun, Srijana Pariyar and Sukmaya BK became first, second and third position holders in blind female race.

In wheel chair race male Suresh Gauli, Bharat Adhikari and in female Punam BK, Dhana Magar and Laxmi Sunar became first, second and third. Both blind and wheelchair race winners were awarded with cash prize five thousandm three thousand and two thousand accordingly.

Prior to this,  the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung including province assembly members were participated in the marathon. As shared by the president of Ex-Sportsman Forum Nepal Tej Bahadur Gurung, around seven thousand people participated including one hundred and twenty runners in the marathon.
