15 games are scheduled in 13th SAG today

Fifteen different games have been scheduled  in Kathmandu and Pokhara under the 13th South Asian Games today. As per the set schedule, competition is taking place in different games comprising volleyball, football, cricket, athletics, badminton, cycling, gulf, karate, khokho, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon and wusu.

Badminton, women cricket, women football and triathlon are being held in Pokhara while remaining games are scheduled to take place in Kathmandu.
Volleyball – The final volleyball matches towards men and women category are taking place today. The final tournament for gold medal under women’s category is to be held at covered hall of National Sports Council (NSC) in Tripureswor. Nepal has reached the final by defeating Sri Lanka 3-0.

This is the first time Nepal entered final in the South Asian level volleyball match. Nepal team captain Aruna Shahi commented that they are taking in India and are confident to win the gold. The tournament will convene at 4.00 pm today.

Likewise, India and Pakistan are competing in the final volleyball match under men’s category. It is set to begin at 1.00 pm today. Two football matches under men’s category are taking place at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureswor today. Nepal will take in Bhutan in the first match at 1.00 pm today.

Bangladesh and the Maldives are competing in the second match at 5.00 pm today. The winners from the matches would reach the final.

Similarly, under the SAG cricket under men’s category, Nepal is playing against Test-playing country Sri Lanka. The tournament is scheduled to take place at Tribhuvan University cricket ground. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are heading for final women’s cricket to take place in Pokhara today.

The wusu tournaments are taking place at Lagankhel-based Nepal Army’s Physical and Training Centre from today. Nepal is taking on for 22nd gold medal today.

Shooting is also convening from today. Nepali women players will compete in two matches to be held at Shooting Hall in Satdobato. Nepali teams are competing in shooting for five gold medals.

Competition is being held for four gold medals in taekwondo today. The tournaments are taking place at Taekwondo Academy in Satdobato.  Competition is taking place for seven gold medals in the category. The tournaments are taking place at Dasharath Stadium.

Similarly semi-final tournaments under Kho Kho are taking place between India and Sr Lanka and Nepal and Bangladesh. The tournaments are to be held at International Sports Premises in Satdobato.

Nepal is competing in different tournaments of karate today. Nepal has already clinched seven gold medals in karate.  The karate tournaments are taking place at Satdobato-based International Sports Premises.

In the men’s gulf beginning from today at Gokarna Forest Gulf Club, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan are competing. In women’s category, only three countries, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are taking part.

Table tennis tournament is to be held at Lainchaur-based National Table Tennis Training Centre. Likewise, Tennis tournament is also taking place in the same venue.
