Three passengers were killed while fifteen others have been injured in a jeep accident occurred at Magra of Gurans rural municipality-4 in the district on Friday. The accident took place when a jeep (Bhe 1 Ja 1019) heading to Dailekh from Surkhet fell some 250 meters down the road, police said.
All three died on the spot, according to Dailekh Police. The deceased have been identified as Nam Bahadur Baduwal and his wife Kamal Baduwal of Dailekh and Thire Kami of Birendranagar municipality of Surkhet district. Local people and police personnel from Ranimatta Police Station carried out the rescue operation.
Dailekh Police Chief Hari Bahadur Oli added the injured have been undergoing treatment at Surkhet Hospital. The preliminary report of the police has found that the cause behind the accident might be narrow road with high speed.
