380 new COVID-19 cases confirmed, Nepal’s tally reaches 6,591

Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday said that 380 fresh cases of coronavirus have been reported in Nepal in the past 24 hours.

As many as 380 persons—352 males and 28 females–  were found with the virus infection in the last 24 hours, informed Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.

With the addition of the case, the country’s tally has reached 6,591, Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr.  Gautam said.

In the test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Jhapa, two persons, including a man and a woman from Panchthar were confirmed to be infected and a test conducted at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has confirmed the infection in two men from Sunsari and two men from Siraha.

Similarly, tests conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Janakpur, confirmed the infection in five women and 33 men from Rautahat, one woman and 16 men from Mahottari.

A test conducted at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, confirmed the infection in one man and two men in Parsa.

Likewise, tests conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Pokhara confirmed the infection in one woman and nine men from Gorkha, two men from Nawalparasi East, one man from Baglung, two men from Tanahun, three men from Kaski and four men from Syangja.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Gautam, the laboratory test at Seti Provincial Hospital has confirmed the infection in one person from Achham, one woman and 20 men from Baitadi, one woman and 19 men from Doti, 11 men from Kanchanpur, four women and 19 men from Kailali.

A laboratory test at Bheri Hospital confirmed the infection in one man from Banke and nine men from Bardiya.

Similarly, tests conducted at the laboratory of Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj have confirmed infection in three men from Saptari and one man from Nawalparasi East was confirmed infected in the laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital.

A test conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Rupandehi, confirmed the infection in one woman and two men from Arghakhanchi and one man from Rupandehi.

Similarly, tests conducted at the Provincial Hospital Surkhet and Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory have confirmed the infection in five men from Dailekh, one woman and three men from Surkhet.

Laboratory tests at Dhulikhel Hospital confirmed the infection in 21 men from Dhanusha and one man from Ramechhap and a test conducted at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences has confirmed the infection in one man from Salyan, 10 women and 46 men from Dang.

Likewise, tests conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory confirmed infection in six men from Arghakhanchi, one woman from Kathmandu, one woman and 71 men from Mahottari, one man from Morang, 14 men from Rautahat, one man from Rolpa, three men from Rupandehi and 16 men from Sarlahi.

In the last 24 hours, 5,055 samples have been tested through PCR, said Spokesperson Dr. Gautam.

According to him, 367,257 samples have been tested for coronavirus in Nepal so far. Of these, 143,738 samples were tested through the PCR and 223,519 through the RDT.

Meanwhile, a total of 117 people were discharged after recovery in the last 24 hours, he said. With this 1,158 have been discharged across the country so far.

At present, 5,531 people are in isolation and 133,009 are in quarantines across the country.

Nepal has not reported any death in the past 24 hours. Nepal’s death tally stands at 19.
