A total of four people were killed and seven people were left injured in a jeep accident in Simkot, Humla, on Friday.
Chief of Humla District Police Office DSP Surya Prakash Subedi informed that the police have identified the deceased as Parbat Sunar (30) of Simkot rural municipality-7, Paras Bohara (29) of Simkot rural municipality-2, Duki Tamang (45) and her husband Guru Tamang (48) of Namkha rural municipality-1.
According to DSP Subedi, a joint rescue team of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepali Army arrived at the incident site and worked with the locals to rescue the people.
The injured were then brought to the Humla District Hospital for treatment.
The jeep (Lu 2 Cha 2102) travelling en route to Hepkakhola from Simkot met with the accident at Okhreni of Simkot rural municipality-7 at around 11 pm last night and fell down some 400 metres off the road.
The police, however, said the cause behind the accident is yet to be ascertained.
The deceased bodies are being kept at a morgue, police said.
