Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal, (JCYCN), and KANALLAN have completed a 5 Days Training on Girls Empowerment and Preventing SGBV(sexual and gender based violence) at the Community Level from May 28 to June 1, 2019 in Chitwan.
Devchuli Municipality has been conducting ‘Girl Empowerment Project’ that by since 2018 for achieving SDGs no. 5 and 10. As a continuation of the project the training has been conducted consisting 35 adolescent girls and female teacher with the objective of developing facilitating and leadership skill of selected participants, this year.
The main focus of the training was to strengthen the skills on young girls on leadership, facilitation skill, child right and girl’s right, issues of child and adolescence girls, social norms and values, conflict and violence, mapping of support mechanism.
After the completion of the training adolescence and girl will be mobilizing as a peer educator to aware on girl’s rights and empowerment in Devchuli Municiality as well as nearby locality. They also play a role of an advocate with different concern agencies for establishing girl’s agenda in policy and programs of municipality.
JCYCN president Mr. Tilottam Poudel gave the closing remarks, expressing his expectations to see the Devchuli Municipality in safe and empowered hands in future.
