A total of 900,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines are arriving in Nepal from northern neighbor China today.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, 800,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines are comming from Beijing, the capital city of China, while 100,000 doses will come from China’s autonomous region Tibet.
An airbus of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) had flown to Beijing at 11 pm Monday to bring China-donated COVID-19 vaccines.
As many as 900,000 doses out of one million COVID-19 vaccines donated by China are arriving in Nepal by today night, government officials have said.
Chinese President Xi Jinping had pledged 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal during the telephone conversation with President Bidya Bhandari on May 26.
The NAC Airbus will take off from Beijing at 10 am Tuesday and arrive in Kathmandu by Tuesday night, said TIA.
