Members of the State Assembly of State 3 has asked the government to revoke the bill related to the right to information tabled at the State Assembly.
Stating that the existing bill is in violation of the new constitution, the international practice related to the subject and Right to Information Act, 2064, they have stressed the need for drafting a new related bill with consultations from experts.
They made this demand at a discussion programme on the bill organised here recently by Freedom Forum.
“Many faults have been found out in the bill. We have also applied for its amendment. The bill should be cancelled and a new bill be drafted,” they said. The event was attended by SA members Chhiring Dorje Lama, Rajendra Man Shrestha, Ramesh Poudel, Radha Ghale, Yogendra Raj Sangraula, Bijaya KC, Debaki Shrestha,Jiban Dangol and Rajani Jotchhe, former secretary Shree Ram Panta, advocates Tanka Aryal, Baburam Aryal and Sanjib Ghimire, president of Freedom Forum Hari Binod Adhikari and chief executive Tara Nath Dahal.
