Nepal and China Communist Party Interaction Program proved remarkable

A two-day high-level interaction program jointly organized by Central Department of Party School, Nepal Communist Party and Foreign Department of Chinese Communist Party ended recently in Kathmandu. Around 200 leaders of various ranks and files of Nepal Communist along with dignitaries from China were participated in that program. Special thematic sessions were conducted yesterday during the second day of the high-level interaction program. CPC’s central organization committee leader Xu Nan Peng delivered speech on “Comprehensive Enforcement of Party Discipline” during the second session. Similarly, the third session was conducted by Qin Gang, CPC Central Party School on Comprehensive Deepening of Reform. Gang added that Chinese Communist Party has succeeded for the overall development of China comprising economic, social, political and cultural through the notion of socialism. The party must play key role to leadership for the unification of the country which has included 56 castes having 1.43 billion population. Gang further made clear regarding the process and criteria to get membership for the party stating that only the most capable from the sale committee will be identified for the leadership of the Central Committee.

In addition to this, the fourth session on “Joint Bid for Building Belt and Road Initiative and Community Future for Mankind” has addressed by Shi Yu Long, National Development and Reform Commission. Long has mainly focused his presentation on the BRI (The Belt and Road Initiative) which is one of the global development strategy adopted by China involving infrastructure development and investment in 152 countries around the world. BRI which has major objective to improve regional integration increasing trade and stimulating economic growth is associated to two major terms ‘development’ and ‘co-operation’, said Long. It has further played crucial role for enhancing world peace and common development of the entire universe. Since its inception, China’s trade volume with participant countries has exceeded to 9.9 percentage while last year by 11.7 percentage between Nepal and China. Thus, BRI has succeeded to bring more people shaking off poverty, improved infrastructure and speedy growth of industrial development along with huge achievement in resource management.

China through the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in 2016 and now grown to 100 approved members worldwide has major aim to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia. So far, China has mainly focused on inter-cultural exchange, world peace, scientific progress, conservation of world environment and aimed to organize Chinese Tourism Year in Nepal in near future.

On the other hand, China through its BRI project has focused on establishing international co-operation and most specifically the formation of the human prosperity Community. The human prosperity community through globalization has linked the people from all over the world simultaneously.

At the end of the interaction program, different personalities relating to Nepal Communist Party including Bhagwati Chaudhary, Khim lal Bhattarai, Ram Kumar Sharma, Ramdip Acharya, Gorakh Bahadur Bogati and Ain Bahadur Mahar have addressed the session evaluating the overall program. Similarly, speaking in the closing ceremony Cao Li of CPC’s Central Party School representing the Chinese Communist Party gave vote of thanks stating on the strong relationship between the two parties based on the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s thought. She also emphasized on the co-operation between the two countries for poverty eradication by the establishment of the human prosperity community. Cao Li further added that the thoughtful exchange between the Chinese Communist Party and Nepal Communist Party has been proved to be a cornerstone and prosper China and Nepal will be possible through the leadership of the two communist parties.

Secretariat member of Nepal Communist Party and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ishwor Pokhrel attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Minister Pokhrel expressed his honor and privilege to all for the grand success of the interaction program. “Chinese Communist Party working mechanism more specifically on poverty eradication and party discipline maintenance are the major things to be learnt- Minster Pokhrel said.” Pokhrel further stressed on the comprehensive enforcement of party discipline, organizational structure, working mechanism, behavior and importance of joint bid for building the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The interaction program was mainly focused on four key issues widely encompassing building of moderately comfortable society, comprehensive enforcement of party discipline, comprehensive deepening of reform and joint bid for building BRI and community future for mankind. A group of selected leaders representing both parties have attended the interaction inaugurated by NCP chief and Prime Minister KP Oli on last Monday. Song Tao, head of the international department of the CPC delivered a key note speech at the opening ceremony of the function. Chinese leaders shared Chinese Communist Party’s ideology that is the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s views on maintaining discipline in party rank and file and implementation of the BRI for benefits of both the countries. 

The ruling CPN and the Communist Party of China (CPC) also signed on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the mutual co-operation. Chief of the foreign department of the party Madhav Kumar Nepal and Chief of the International Liaison Department of CPC Song Tao signed on the MoU in presence of CPN chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
