Nepal to contest with Sri-Lanka

Nepal has entered the semifinal in the Women Volleyball match under the 13 South Asian Games. Nepal will contest with the winner of Group B, Sri-Lanka. Nepal entered the semifinal after India defeated Bangladesh on Friday.

Bangladesh was defeated by India by 3-0 in a match held at the covered hall of Tripureshwar. India had defeated Bangladesh by 25-8, 25-11, and 25-9. Bangladesh is continuously defeated in two matches.

However, Nepal had won the match by 25-9, 25-9, and 25-11. Earlier, Nepal was defeated by India in the second match held on Thursday by 25-26, 12-25 and 16-25. In another match, Sri-Lanka had defeated Maldives by 3-0.

Though the formal opening ceremony of the 13th South Asian Games will take place on Sunday, some sports events have already begun.

Over 2700 athletes will compete for 1119 medals, including 319 gold, in 26 game categories.

As many as 499 athletes from India is participating in the biggest sporting event of South Asia.

The closing ceremony will be on December 10.
