The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants Felipe Gonzalez Morales on Thursday discussed the situation of Nepali migrant workers and rights with the office-bearers of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
During the discussions, the UN Special Rapporteur had enquired about the recruitment process of the Nepali migrant workers, reintegration of the returnees, the situation of the refugees and the NHRC’s initiatives to that end.
On the occasion, NHRC Chairman Anup Raj Sharma shared about the human rights situation of Nepali migrants and the NHRC’s efforts made so far.
NHRC’s Spokesperson Mohana Ansari said that the Nepali migrant workers are not getting decent income despite their additional working hour.
