A total of 18 Maldivians has flown to the capital of Bangladesh Dhaka on Sunday stranded in Nepal by Nepal Airlines (NA).
The narrow body A320 airplane flew to Dhaka from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), TIA Managing Director Devendra KC shared.
The Maldivian government chartered the flight of the national carrier to rescue its citizen from Nepal stranded following the lockdown.
The government here ordered a nationwide lockdown to contain the outbreak of COVID-19. The aircraft which flew to Dhaka will return Kathmandu today itself.
The Maldivians will board a flight in a different aircraft from Dhaka to fly home. It is an hour long flight from Kathmandu to Dhaka.
