Coronavirus death toll reaches nearly 200,000 globally with over 2.8 mln infected

With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 197, 074 after 6,157 people died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 104, 812 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 2, 827,981

Currently, 1,832,544 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 58, 531 are critical.

Meanwhile, 798,363 have recovered after treatment.

America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has witnessed 1,934 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 52,168 as of Friday morning.

With 37, 960 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 924,402 according to the latest figures collated by Worldometer.

Currently, 761,802 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which the condition of 15, 097 is critical.  Meanwhile, 92,355 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 21, 283 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 5, 617 and 3, 085 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 420 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 25,969 as of Saturday morning.

With 3, 021 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 192, 994, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 106,527 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2,173 are critical. Meanwhile, 60,498 have recovered after treatment.

Spain has the second highest number of infection cases with 219, 764 after the United States of America (USA).

The country reported 6,740 infection cases, 367 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 22, 524 have died due to the novel virus as of Saturday morning.

Currently, 104, 885 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 7,705 are critical.

Meanwhile, 92, 355 have recovered after treatment.

The United Kingdom (UK) has reported 768 new deaths taking the total tally to 19,506 as of Saturday morning.

With 5, 386 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 143, 464 according to Worldometer.

Currently, 123, 614 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1, 559 are critical.

France has registered 22, 245 deaths after 389 died in a single day.

With 1,645 new cases, the total number of infection cases has surged to 159,828 as of Saturday morning.

Currently, 94, 090 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 4, 870 are critical. Meanwhile, 43,493 have returned home after recovery.

India has reported 780 deaths from Coronavirus after 59 died in the last 24 hours as Saturday morning.

With 1, 408 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 24, 447.

Currently, 18, 171 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 5, 496 have returned home after recovery. The India government has conducted tests on 541, 789 people for Coronavirus so far.

Similarly, the number of infection cases has reached 11, 940 in Pakistan after 883 tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 18 died in a single day to reach the tally 253 as of Saturday morning.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, who had to undergo the coronavirus test after he came in contact with a patient a few days ago, has tested negative.

Currently, 8, 932 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 111 are critical. A total of 2,755 have returned home after recovery.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 197, 074 and infecting 2,827, 402 people as of Saturday morning.
