Coronavirus death toll crosses 270,252 globally with over 3.9 mln infected

With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 270, 352 after 5,515 died in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 95, 043 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 3,912,425 as of Friday morning.

Currently, 2,301, 472 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 48, 958 are critical.

Meanwhile, 1,340, 601 have recovered after treatment.

America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 2,109 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 76,908 as of Friday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 29,120 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,292,212.

Currently, 998, 441 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16,995 are critical.  Meanwhile, 216, 863 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 26, 365 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 8,834 and 4, 552 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Italy, Spain and France have witnessed low infection and death rates of late, with 213, 274 and 178 deaths in the last 24 hours, respectively.

India has reported 1,889 deaths after 104 died in the last 24 hours as of Friday morning. With 2,963 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 56, 351.

Currently, 37, 686 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 16, 776 have returned home after recovery. The India government has performed tests on 1,357,413 people for Coronavirus so far.

Similarly, Brazil has witnessed a surge in the deaths of people from Coronavirus of late. According to Worldometer, the death toll has reached 9, 146 after 558 died in the last 24 hours.

With 8, 495 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 135, 106 as of Friday  morning.

Currently, 70, 610 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 8, 318 are critical. Meanwhile, 55, 350 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 212 countries including two international conveyances across the world.
