Nepal reports 380 new COVID-19 cases, tally at 22,972

A total of 380 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population confirmed on Sunday.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the new cases have taken the COVID-19 caseload to 22,972.

The new cases were detected in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Nuwakot, Chitwan, Nawalparasi (East), Ramechhap, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading, Parbat, Palpa, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Dailekh, Surkhet, Jumla, Kalikot, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Doti, Sunsari, Siraha, Morang, Jhapa, Saptari, Dhanusa, Mahottari, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Sindhuli, Bara, and Parsa.

A total of 8,515 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, he said.

A total of 16,353 have recovered across the country so far after 40 discharged from hospital and isolation centers in the last 24 hours, he shared. The recovery rate now stands at 71.1 per cent.

At present, 6,544 people are in isolation and 11,038 are in quarantines.
