The Ministry of Health and Population has recorded 1,228 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.
Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam shared this information at a regular press conference on Thursday.
Among the total infection today, 834 are men and 394 women. With this, the number of infected ones reached 42,877.
The total number of people recovering from the infection has reached 24,207 so far The Ministry updated that 917 infected persons recovered in the last 24 hours.
A total of 13,413 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, he said.
The number of active infections stands at 18,413 with 10,671 in institutional isolation and 7,742 in home isolation.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley witnessed 445 new cases.
In the latest update, six deaths caused by coronavirus have been recorded by the Ministry. Spokesperson Dr. Gautam further said the number of people losing lives to coronavirus has reached 257.
Currently, 12 districts have more than 500 active cases. They are Morang, Sunsari, Bara, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Parsa, Chitwan, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Rupandehi.
Meanwhile, six districts have been free of infection. They are Solukhumbu, Mustang, Taplejung, Dolpa, Humla and Mugu.
Among the infected persons, 141 are receiving treatment at ICU and 17 in ventilator support.
