A total of 17 more COVID-19 patients, including six in Kathmandu Valley, died in the last 24 hours in a record high fatality recorded in a single day.
Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population stated that the death toll from the pandemic has reached 453 with the new fatalities as of Thursday afternoon.
A total of 12 men and five women succumbed to the coronavirus, according to the Ministry.
A 78-year-old man in Jhapa, men aged 68 years and 70 years in Dhanusha, a 65-year-old in Rautahat, an 84-year-old in Bhaktapur, men aged 75, 79 and 80 years in Kathmandu, a 39-year-old in Tanahun, a 39-year-old in Dang, a 50-year-old in Kapilvastu and a 55-year-old in Nawalparasi succumbed to the coronavirus.
Likewise, a 55-year-old woman in Morang, an 81-year-old in Sunsari, a 73-year-old in Bhaktapur, an 82-year-old in Kathmandu and a 32-year-old in Dhading died of the coronavirus.
Earlier on Wednesday, Nepal had recorded seven deaths from the pandemic.
