Many water sources at Rainadevi Chhahara-3 in Palpa have dried up triggering drinking water crisis, affecting around 60 households.
Lack of rainfall this winter is to blame for the water scarcity, a perennial problem that started earlier this year.
Rains would fill cement tanks put up for harvesting rainwater, but they are too empty forcing the villagers to walk hours to fetch drinking water.
“Water sources in the village are fast drying up. We are sustaining on a limited amount of water (two full pots of water every day) that we walk hours to get,” said a local resident Gopal Pariyar.
