The International Conference on Biology and Bio-Technology is taking place in Dhulikhel of Kavre from February 17-21.
The conference is to be jointly organized by KU’s Department of Bio-Chemistry, Institute of Medicine, Dhulikhel Hospital, Research Institute for BioScience and Bio-Technology Nepal and Institute for Molecular Medicine, Finland.
Organizing committee member Prajwal Rajbhandari shared the information that the participating representatives will present paper to enable the idea for the establishment of the first biobank in Nepal.
The objective of the biobank is to collect and distribute samples of human blood cell and other body organs for research.
Rajbhandari further informed that it will help address preliminary questions related to age, disease and growth and development of human body.
As many as 17 scientists from Finland, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and India will present their working papers on bioscience and biotechnology. The conference will be focused on exploring the importance of bio-banking and translational medicine research.
