CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has pledged to work for the development of Tikapur.
Inaugurating the ‘Tikapur Festival’ hosted by Tikapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today, he expressed his commitment to explore development potentials of Tikapur through tourism.
Noting that the Rani Jamara Irrigation Project would help local farmer to irrigate their land and enhance economic opportunities, he stressed that the state should provide irrigation services and seeds for the development of agriculture sector.
“Nepal’s economic foundation is agriculture; it has umpteen opportunities for employment. So, Nepal can strengthen its economic base through modernization and commercialization of agro sector”, he further said.
Former Prime Minister Nepal said that the next government would ensure good governance and development in keeping with public demand for economic advancement.
On the occasion, Province Parliament Member Rana Bahadur Rawal, Tikapur Municipality Mayor Tapendra Rawal and District Coordination Committee Chairperson Surya Bahadur Thapa pledged to develop Tikapur as a beautiful city.
Chamber Chair Parshuram Chapain handed over a four-point demand for Tikapur’s development to leader Nepal.
The festival that kicked off with the slogan ‘Industrial, Cultural, Educational, Agriculture and Tourism Potentials, Vision for Prosperous Far-West’ will last on February 18.
