The administrations of Kathmandu Valley have decided to stop private and public vehicles from plying the roads after 8 pm from today.
A meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur on Tuesday decided to impose the ban while extending the prohibitory order from August 12 to August 24.
Kathmandu CDO Kali Prasad Parajuli said as coronavirus cases were surging it was decided to halt operation of vehicles during night.
However, there wont be any restriction on emergency vehicles, he clarified.
Bhaktapur CDO Prem Prasad Bhattarai added that other modalities of the past are as it is.
