The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 874,629 as of Monday afternoon.
The ministry said 1,095 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 10,786 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 975 returned positive. Likewise, 3,031 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 120 tested positive.
Of total tests, 9.03 per cent of the PCR and 3.95 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 7.92 per cent.
As of today, there are 20,891 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,432 are hospitalised, 371 in intensive care units and 108 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 2,957 people have achieved recovery whereas 8 deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 752,170 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,048 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.75 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.
Meanwhile, 22,192 people were vaccinated today.
