The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 875,959 as of Tuesday afternoon.
The ministry said 1,330 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 9,626 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,036 returned positive. Likewise, 3,996 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 294 tested positive.
Of total tests, 10.76 per cent of the PCR and 7.35 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 9.76 per cent.
As of today, there are 21,524 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,360 are hospitalised, 335 in intensive care units and 107 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 1,830 people have achieved recovery whereas five deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 754,000 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,053 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.86 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.
Meanwhile, 55,242 people were vaccinated today.
