Parineeti Chopra is a youngBollywood actress , who extensively works in Hindi films . First cousin of popular actress Priyanka Chopra , Parineeti never really aspired to become an actress. Before venturing into Bollywood films, she was working as an investment banker and has triple honors degree in finance, business and economics from Manchester Business School. During the 2009 global recession, she returned to India and started working as a public relations consultant at Yash Raj Films as a public relations consultant. After which, she signed a deal with the production house as an actress.
Parineeti’s first film in Bollywood was romantic comedy Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and a Best Supporting Actress nomination. It was her path-breaking performance as Zoya Qureshi in Ishaqzaade (2012) that garnered her widespread critical acclaim. This role also won her the National Film Award – Special Mention.
After delivering superhit films like Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Parineeti starred in the blockbuster comedy Golmaal Again in 2017, which turned out to be one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
Parineeti accepts that before joining Bollywood, she used to be fat and weighed around 86 kilos. Later she faced a lot of body-shaming when she gained weight after a few films.
Not many know, but Parineeti is also a trained singer and proved her mettle by playback singing the song “Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin” in her film Meri Pyaari Bindu. The song became a super hit and she received critical acclaims for the same.
