Nepali Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi has said the President’s move of not appointing the three national assembly members (NA) recommended by the erstwhile government was unconstitutional.
Speaking in a press meet here Saturday, leader Nidhi, also former DPM, added that recommending three members to the NA was erstwhile government’s duty. The government led by Sher Bahdur Deuba had recommended Gopal Basnet, Krishna Prasad Poudel and Chandani Joshi as the NA members.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari however nominated Dr Yubraj Katiwada, Ram Narayan Bidari and Bimala Poudel Rai as the NA members after the incumbent government led by KP Sharma Oli recommended their names.
Leader Nidhi further shared that institutionalizing the achievements as federalism and other changes was the responsibly of everyone.
On another note, he said there was no alternative to President Sher Bahadur Deuba to the post of parliamentary party leader.
