Kathmandu, Feb 26
The Karnali Janadhikar Mancha has demanded the Karnali region be made the capital city of Province-6. The demand was made after the Assembly of Province-6 named the Province ‘Karnali’ and approved Surkhet as the permanent capital Saturday.
In a press meet here Sunday, the Mancha coordinator Prakash Rokaya urged the concerned sides to respect the public aspirations while taking such decision of long lasting importance.
He added that making provincial capital in Surkhet was against the aspiration of Karnali folks.
The Mancha general secretary Kamal Khatri opined for further allocation of the capital cities- in Humla, Jumla, Mugu, Dolpa and Kalikot districts.
