Kathmandu, Feb 26
President and Nepal Army (NA)’s Supreme Commander Bidya Devi Bhandari Sunday visited the Panchkhal-based Birendra Peace Operations Training Center in Kavrepalanchowk to inspect demonstrations by the Durgabax Battalion eighth troop taking part in the UN peace keeping mission in the South Sudan.
On the occasion, the President addressed the ceremony and said the NA personnel had participated in the UN peace keeping operations at the world’s warring zones with high confidence.
The President expressed her hope that the NA personnel taking part in the peacekeeping mission at the call of the UN would perform their duties with dedication and honesty, taking the image of Nepal and Nepali to a new height. During the ceremony, the troop presented exercises and other demonstrations necessary to defend challenges possible in the areas of mission.
NA Chief Rajendra Chhetri, Defense Secretary Binod KC, and other NA senior officers were present on the occasion, the NA Directorate of Public Relations said in a press statement.
