Nepal  faces defeat to Zimbabwe  in first ICC qualifying match



Kathmandu, March 5, 2018

Nepal has lost its match under the ICC World Cup Qualifier against host Zimbabwe by 116 runs.

In the match, Nepal in its attempts to chasing huge target of 381 runs posted by Zimbabwe, finished in 264 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs.

Team captain Paras Khadka scored 40 runs, while Gyanendra Malla 32 runs,  Dipendra Singh Airee 23 runs, Sharad Veswakar 52 runs, Aarif Sheiha 50 runs, Rohit Kumar 30 runs, Sompal Kami 11 runs and  Sandeep Lamichhane contributed 6 runs to the team while Dilip Nath and Basanta Regmi made two runs each.

Earlier, winning the toss and inviting Nepal to field, Zimbabwe  collected 380 at the loss of  six wickets in 50 overs.

Nepal is meeting Scotland coming Thursday for the second match.
