Dunai, Dolpa, March 7
The market in Dunai, the headquarters of Dolpa district, has opened from today after remaining closed for a week.
The locals had called a shutdown in Dunai for a week in protest against the shifting of the Thuli Bheri Municipality administrative centre from Dunai to Jufal.
The Protest Committee, Dolpa has stated that the shutdown has been lifted from Wednesday in view of the inconvenience caused to the general public. Schools and colleges, banks and local market had remained closed in course of the shutdown.
The committee however stated that it would continue its symbolic and ideological protests even though it has withdrawn the shutdown protest. Coordinator of the protest committee Hikmat Shahi said they would carry on with peaceful protest assemblies, signature collection campaign and sticking black flags.
He said they would be compelled to call an indefinite shutdown if their demand was not met.
