Antilia is a private home in south Mumbai India. It is owned by Mukesh Ambani, chairman of reliance industries, and has a staff of 600 to maintain the residence 24 hours a day.
It is located on Altamount Road, Cumballa Hill in Mumbai. Antilia was designed by Chicago -based architects Perkins and wills with the Australian-based construction company Leighton holdings taking charge of its construction.
The home has 27 floors with extra-high ceilings. (Other buildings of equivalent height may have as many as 60 floors.)
The home was also designed to survive an earthquake rated 8 on the Richter scale Thomas Johnson, director of marketing at architecture firm Hirsch Bedner associates(consulted by reliance during the design of the building’s floor plan) told Forbes magazine the residence cost nearly $2 billion.
The 400,000-square foot is 27 stories, high, but since some ceilings are double-height, it’s closer to the size of a 40-story building.
Antilia contains a multi-story garage with space for 168 cars. It also has three helipads on the roof, in case you prefer to arrive by air.
There is also a spa, terraced gardens and a temple where the family prays regularly. This blueprint shows the 2-story recreation center.
It also has a ballroom, guest suites, and theater that seats 50.
Two design motifs the sun and the lotus are repeated throughout the mansion in rare materials like crystal, marble, and mother-of-pearl.
The home is named after a mythical island in the Atlantic Ocean.
