Ojha, Lama come out with debut “Wari Ko Dadama Ma”

Kathmandu, April 6

Journalist Anup Ojha has another feather in his cap. He has come out with his debut music video “Wari Ko Dadama Ma” released recently.
The video tells childhood accounts of two friends, who are currently living in two different time zones. Two childhood friends–Ojha himself and Pradeep Lama, director of the song (both of whom appear as models in the video)—are apart by circumstances. Lama reaches Australia, and Ojha stays back in his village. The video is shot in Nepal and Australia.

Produced by YES Study Australia, and presented by The NEXT based in Australia in collaboration with Sagar Raj Film, the song is composed and sung jointly by Ojha and Lama.

The video is directed and choreographed by Lama, who is also co-founder of The NEXT. The music arrangement and the mixing are done by Pradeep Joshi. The screenplay is written jointly by Saagar Raj (in Nepal) and Amit Bajracharya (in Sydney).

The video also casts Deepson Pariyar, Nirmal Neupane Pokhrel, Sameer Tamang as models. The video also features a dance segment featuring artists from The NEXT including Suchana Paudel, Sweta Paudel, Prabha Dawadi, Amit Bajracharya, Yogesh Karki, and Pradeep Lama.

The song marks the musical debut of Ojha, a journalist with The Kathmandu Post English daily. As a journalist, Ojha has long experiences of writing music reviews, covering concerts, interviewing famed artists and celebrities from both national and international arena. He is also a theater artist, a student of Nepali theater veteran Sunil Pokharel.

Sharing his excitement about his first song, Ojha said, “I am happy to have come up with my first song. Nothing could make this song better than a beautiful friendship relation that it shares. I hope millions of Nepalis living abroad, far from their loved ones, can relate to this song, and feel nostalgic about their childhood and their special friends.”

“This is the first project that we did in Nepal as well. It took some time but we are glad that the video is finally hitting the airwaves. The video is our way of celebrating our friendship, and hope it goes on to relate to other such friendships like ours,” said Lama.
