Fourteen concrete bridges to be constructed on Beni-Korala road section

Fourteen concrete bridges are tobe constructed on the Beni-Korala road section. Korala is the transit point on the Nepal-China border in Mustang district.

This many bridges would be constructed on the tributaries of the Kaligandaki River. The road section runs parallel to the Kaligandaki river.

Presently, six bridges are under construction while of the eight remaining bridges, tenders have been called for some while some are in designing state and others have reached the stage of contract.

Chief of the Klaigandaki Corridor Project Narendra Subedi said work is being carried out on the bridges with the goal of completing them in the coming 30 months. The 169 kilometres long Beni-Jomsom-Korala road is currently being upgraded.

Bailey bridges have been used currently and these bridges would be replaced by concrete bridges, Subedi said.
