Kathmandu, May 8
The Council of Ministers has approved the ‘inquisition guidelines’ for minimizing problems related to foreign employment presented by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday decided that workers would be sent only as per the demand for labor certified by Nepal’s missions. Joint Secretary at the Ministry, Dr. Ram Prasad Ghimire, said that the guidelines would help reduce the problem of cheating that is rife in the foreign employment sector.
“The Ministry works in a coordinated manner with the embassies of the related countries and governments for the foreign employment,” he said, adding that the government has however not tried to restrict the Nepali youths from going for foreign employment.
Stating that foreign employment is Nepal’s compulsion, Ghimire said the government came to the conclusion to prepare the guidelines following consultations with former ambassadors.
