Speaker draws government’s attention

Kathmandu, May 18

Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara drew the attention of the government towards the issues of national importance raised by lawmakers in the meeting of the House of Representatives today.

He sought the government’s views saying the MPs speaking in today’s meeting of the House had drawn the government’s attention on topics as the increase in incidents of violence against women in various parts of the country, and the flood and earthquake-affected people not getting decent relief, among others.

The Speaker drew the government’s attention on the need of taking the MPs’ demands seriously and addressing them.
