Kathmandu, May 18
The third international Scouts jamboree is going to be held at the International Training Centre of Nepal Scouts in Kakani, Nuwakot from May 30 to June 4.
The second jamboree was organized at Tikauli in Chitwan under the initiative of Nepal Scouts four years back. The first jamboree was held in 2043 BS in Kirtipur.
The objective of the jamboree is to enhance the skills and capacity of the scouts capable by bringing scouters to one place and thereby promote fraternity.
It is expected that such jamboree will be a milestone for the Nepal Scouts. Around 5,000 people associated with the Scouts movement from abroad and within the country are expected to participate in the jamboree.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has allocated Rs 20 million to this effect. The jamboree would be helpful in promoting world scout norms and values and in spreading the message of peace and harmony across the globe through such programme.
The Scout ad-hoc committee coordinator, Chandan Kaushi, shared in a press meet here today that the programme would help in the exchange knowledge and showing their talents by the participants.
Prime Minister and Patron of Nepal Scouts KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate the programme.
