Province 5 Chief Minister (CM) Shankar Pokharel has urged all Nepalis to move ahead united to establish durable peace, good-governance and a prosperous nation by means of the federal democratic republic.
Addressing the main programme organised in Butwal, the provisional capital of Province 5, to mark the 11th Republic Day, today, CM Pokharel said a solid foundation would be in place from the next fiscal year for the smooth functioning of the provincial and local level governments.
“We are steadfast in directing our efforts towards that direction,” he said. State Chief Umakanta Jha was also present on the occasion.
Mayor of Butwal Sub-metropolitan City Shivaraj Subedi said all should put in concerted efforts towards making the country and the province prosperous.
Earlier to this, a morning procession was organised from local bus park to the Ganatantra Park at Butwal Mandap. Ministers of the province government, people’s representatives, employees, security bodies and members of the business community, among others participated in the procession.
Likewise, various organisations in the province organised blood collection camps, distributed fruits to the patients and friendly football matches also marking the Republic Day.
The Province 5 Government has given public holiday today in all the 12 districts of the province on the occasion of the Republic Day.
