Market monitoring launched along Prithivi Highway



Malekhu, Dhading, June 5

The District Monitoring Committee, Dhading has launched a market monitoring, targeting highway shops in the district.

During the surprise supervision held Monday, shops at Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality area along the Prithivi Highway here were found supplying goods even after the expiry dates, according to Assistant Chief District Officer Dholak Raj Dhakal.

Under the watch that started from yesterday (Monday), a large quantity of expired food like noodles, biscuits, juice of different and junk food ( kurkure and lays) was seized and destroyed.

The team also raided at least 10 liquor shops that were running without license and seized liquor items and destroyed them.

The monitoring that aims to address public complaints that eateries and shops especially offering services to passengers travelling to the central capital Kathmandu and other parts of the country are selling date-expired goods will continue, said Dhading’s Chief District Officer Bhagirath Pandey.
