Speaker of the Province Assembly of Province-5, Purna Bahadur Gharti, has termed the death of assembly legislator Uttam Kumar Oli as an irreparable loss to the provincial assembly as well as to the society.
Issuing a condolence statement on Oli’s demise, the Assembly speaker said Oli’s role during the one year term of the Province Assembly has been laudable and that the late legislator’s statements and cooperation would be remembered for long.
Gharti has paid tribute to the late Oli and extended condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
The statement also mentions that the Province Assembly Secretariat will remain closed for one day today to mourn Oli’s demise.
Oli who had sustained injuries in a road accident died last night in Kathmandu in the course of treatment at Mediciti Hospital. He met with an accident at Chisapani of Dang district on February 7.
Meanwhile, the Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan City has closed all its ward offices under Dang constituency number 3 ‘B’, the late Oli’s constituency, for a day today in mourning. Mayor Ghanshyam Pandey said that the sub-metroplois wards 1, 2, 10 and 11 which fall under Oli’s constituency have been closed. The Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan City Office has also instructed the ward offices to keep condolence book for 13 days at the ward offices for the general public to express their condolences.
