PM Oli expresses condolence

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed sorrow over the death of Province-5’s province assembly member Uttar Kumar Oli.
Prime Minister Oli, who is also the chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), paid tribute to legislator Oli while speaking in a condolence meeting held at the NCP central office at Dhumbarahi today.
PM Oli said that the death of an able youth leader of the NCP has caused loss to the whole party and the country as well. He also extended condolences to the members of the bereaved family, relatives and the entire party rank and file on legislator Oli’s passing.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister draped party flag over the late Oli’s mortal remains.
He was elected to the Province-5 provincial assembly on a then CPN (UML) ticket from a Dang constituency in the Province Legislature elections held in late 2017.
Oli met with an accident at 4 pm at Chisapani of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Dang district on February 7 while going towards his home from Butwal. He was brought to Kathmandu for treatment. He died in course of treatment at Mediciti Hospital, Lalitpur at 2 am today. He was 37.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel, Home Affairs Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, NCP secretariat member Bamdev Gautam, party general secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel, among other party leaders also paid tribute to the late Oli at the condolence programme.
