An Urge for Paradigm Shift

03 March 2019

Some days before a news became a hot cake in Nepal. It grabbed the attention to many; some got excited and for other it caused controversies. It was the ‘Pashupati Sharma issue’.

The subject was simple, yet serious. As a folk singer he sang a satirical song viewing at some contemporary concerns of our country’s socio-political scenario for which he has got the right as a citizen of a democratic country. However, he became nausea for the existing power players. Also, he was forced to remove his song “Lutna Sake Lut Kanccha” from YouTube page.

This incidence reminded me a famous saying, “Sometimes it seems that the louder someone claims sainthood, the bigger the horn they are hiding”. Instead of checking and reducing widespread impunity in the country the concern was shown to a song sang just to aware our current inherent condition. This indicates that the power is being exercised in such a way that even the one who takes oath to practice honesty and to work for the greater good gets drowned into the never ending self centered game.

We are in the verge of the advanced intellectual development which has made our life easier and productive. Every person can work both individually and collectively. Nevertheless, the collective effort gives more and better outcome. So, It is the responsibility of the government of a country to create an environment where everyone can exercise their full potential rather bound to be dominated by the authority. This is the era of globalization when one reached the course of settlement in Mars, our government is still muddling into the narrow boundary of blame game and defamation. Moreover, the development work is in lumbering pace. This not only lags the country behind but also stops the aspiration of its citizen’s progressive outlook.

Thus, the time has come to put the gear in to generate a concrete vision substantially. Instead of indulging into the personal gain the government must put entire focus on public welfare and economic advancement. For that, we have ample means and resources to develop our country. Regarding human resource the better policy and programme related to skill development with implementation is required. When everyone joins hands together without any grudge for the common interest then the day is not far when Nepal will be the most aspired country in the world.
