Like most countries, Nepal too celebrates International Women’s Day on 8th of March every year. But unlike most countries, Nepal still has a long and far way to go to get the gender balance right.
Yesterday, on the occasion of 109th Intl Women’s Day the various social organizations in Nepal have organized a rally in Kathmandu to advance the cause of women in all sectors. The main purpose of the women’s day celebration in Nepalis to empower Nepalese women to protest against ill-treatment and backward thoughts.
The various organisations of Nepal held the rally that commenced from Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu which marched through Bhrikutimandap, Putalisadak, Bagbazar, Buspark and Tourism board and converted into a corner meeting in Bhrikutimandap again.
