Kathmandu, Feb 12
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed belief that the corruption could be eliminated with all sides’ resolution, to thereby ensure good governance and rule of law in the country.
Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the anti-graft body, Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in the capital city Sunday, President Bhandari pointed out the need of building prosperous and cultured society, which seeks positive roles from diverse sectors.
“Country has adopted a new political system. For integrity, good governance and public accountability, the role of CIAA is ever rising,” she underscored.
According to her, the CIAA’s effectiveness would help ensure good governance delivery from the local, provincial and federal governments.
On the occasion, Chief Commissioner at CIAA, Deep Basnyat said although the controlling corruption and maintaining rule of law are tough jobs, these were not impossible.
