A businessman from Birgunj, Parsa district has been tested positive for coronavirus.

Patna Medical College in Bihar of India confirmed that a 67-year-old person Rangata (his caste) of Birgunj Aadarshanagar-10, who had been referred to the hospital from a local hospital in Birgunj six days ago, has been tested positive for COVID-19.

He was suffering from fever since the last few days, hospital sources said. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital in Patna.

It has been reported that 12 of his family members have been quarantined at ‘home’ in Birgunj.

Lawmaker of Parsa Pradeep Kumar Yadav also confirmed the news.

“The infected is in Patna now. His family has been quarantined in Birgunj,” he said.

The person had returned from Dubai a few days ago. He complained of fever and dry cough as soon as he came to Nepal from Dubai.

This is the second confirmed case of COVID-19 in the country. A man, who had earlier in January tested positive for novel coronavirus in Kathmandu, returned home after being recovered.
