The 20th national quake safety day has been marked with a slogan ‘Strong Community and Local Government, Solid Base for Quake Resilience,’ across the country today.
The day has also been marked in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis by organizing various awareness-raising programmes.
Awareness rallies were organized in various parts of the city.
Speaking at the programme, Urban Division Nepalgunj Office chief Sunil Kumar Thakur shared that around 90 percent buildings in the city are at high risk of the earthquake.
Similarly, the mayor of the city Dr. Dhabal Shamsher Rana underlined the importance of strictly implementing the building code of conduct to stay safe from the possible quake risks.
