Kathmandu, April 12
The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has said its attention was drawn towards attempts by the users of social networking sites like Facebook spreading misleading information posting messages in the social network that the Government of Nepal has from the New Year 2075 completely stopped Facebook by using the letter pad of the erstwhile Ministry of Information and Communications, the name and the signature of the former minister.
“The Ministry has not taken a decision of blocking any social site and since it has urged the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police to take legal action on people spreading this false information, it urges all people do not believe in such wrong and misleading information,” a press release issued by the Ministry joint secretary and spokesperson Ram Chandra Dhakal stated.
The Ministry has also urged the social network site users to remove if they have posted such false information if any.
