Coronavirus death toll crosses 228,100 globally with over 3.2mln infected

With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 228, 195 as of Thursday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 76, 562 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 3,219, 246.

Currently, 1,992, 801 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 59, 808 are critical.

Meanwhile, 1,000,250 have recovered after treatment.

America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 2, 352 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 61, 656 as of Thursday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 27, 586 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,064,194. This is an increase by 2,546 compared to the other day.  It was     25, 040on Wednesday.

Currently, 855, 127 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which the condition of 18, 671 is critical.  Meanwhile, 147,411 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 23, 474 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 6, 770 and 3, 670 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has 324 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 27, 682 as of Thursday morning.

The number of infection cases in the country has reached 203, 591 after 2, 086 new cases were reported, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America, according to Worldometer.

Currently, 104,657 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1,795 are critical. Meanwhile, 71,252 have recovered after treatment.

Spain has the second highest number of infection cases with 236,899 after the United States of America (USA).

The country reported 4, 771 infection cases, 453 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 24, 275 have died due to the novel virus as of Thursday morning.

Currently, 79, 695 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 7,764 are critical.

Meanwhile, 132, 929 have recovered after treatment.

The death toll in the United Kingdom (UK) has reached 26, 097 after 795 died in the last 24 hours as of Thursday morning.

According to Worldometer,  with 4, 076 new cases,  the number of infection cases has surged to 165, 221.

Currently, 138, 780 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1, 559 are critical.

France has reported 427 deaths in the last 24 hours taking to death toll to 24, 087 deaths as of Thursday morning.

According to reports, the number of infection cases has surged to 166, 420 after 509 new cases were reported in a single day.

Currently, 94, 105 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 4, 207 are critical. Meanwhile, 48, 228 have returned home after recovery.

India has reported 1, 079 deaths after 71 died in the last 24 hours as of Thursday morning. With 1,738 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 33, 062.

Currently, 23, 546 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 8, 437 have returned home after recovery. The India government has performed tests on 770,774 people for Coronavirus so far.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 228,195 and infecting 3,219,246 people as of Thursday morning.
