Coronavirus death toll crosses 308,000 globally with over 4.6 mln infected

With Coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 308,131 after 5, 049 died in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 99, 073 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to  4,621,082 as of Saturday morning.

Currently, 2,557, 939 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 45, 004 are critical. Meanwhile, 1,755,012 have recovered after treatment.

America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,572 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 88, 484.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 26, 368 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,483,961 as of Saturday morning.

Currently, 1,069, 363 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16,135 are critical.  Meanwhile, 326, 114 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 27, 574 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 10,150 and 5,592 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Italy has reported 242 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 31,610 so far.

The number of infection cases in the country has reached 223, 885 after 789 new cases were reported.

Currently, 72,070 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 808 are critical. Meanwhile, 120, 205 have recovered after treatment.

Spain has the second highest number of infection cases with 274,367 after the United States of America (USA).

The country reported 1,721 infection cases, 238 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 27, 459 have died from the novel virus so far.

Currently, 57, 941 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1,320 are critical.

Meanwhile, 188, 967 have recovered after treatment.

The death toll in the United Kingdom (UK) from Coronavirus pandemic has reached 33, 998 after 384 died in the last 24 hours.

According to Worldometer, with 3, 560 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 236, 711 as of Saturday morning.

UK has performed tests on 2,353,078 people so far.

The death toll in France has reached 27, 529 after 104 died in the last 24 hours. With 636 news cases the number of infection  cases has surged to  179, 506 have been as of Saturday morning.

Currently, 91, 529 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2, 203 are critical. Meanwhile, 60, 448 have returned home after recovery.

Similarly, Brazil has witnessed a surge in the deaths of people from Coronavirus of late. According to Worldometer, the death toll has reached 14, 817 after 824 died in the last 24 hours.

With 15, 305 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 218, 223 as of Saturday morning.

Currently, 118, 436 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 8, 318 are critical. Meanwhile, 84, 970 have recovered after treatment.

India has reported 2, 753 deaths after 104 died in the last 24 hours. With 3,942 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 85, 784 as of Saturday morning.

Currently, 52, 773 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 30, 258 have returned home after recovery. The India government has performed tests on 2,039,952 people for Coronavirus so far.
